New mattress for a little while
In Uncategorized on March 9, 2012 at 5:57 pmBecause be is the best and loves me to bits and pieces. And also she didn’t like me being grumpy because I didn’t get any sleep. But mostly the first thing.
The mattress came shrinkwrapped in a box about the size of a mini-fridge. It weighed 64 pounds and was a bit mushy, so getting it out of the box was the first adventure.
It said to put the mattress on the bed, then cut off the outer bags. So I did. Except I looked carefully at the diagrams and it didn't show which way was up--the mattress was folded in half and then shrink-wrapped into a 'W' shape, and in one diagram, it was drawn with the bed sides pointing up (W) and one with the bed sides pointing down (M) so I just went with "Serta label up."
As soon as the bag was cut off, the mattress started to suck in air with a "Woooooshing" sound... I managed to grab the camera and snap one quick picture before it finished flopping over. And of course... it was upside-down.
The new mattress right-side up! The instructions say it can take three days to fully regain its shape.
Now that's memory foam!

Clockwise from right: fish tacos, salsa, jalapenos, a guacamole taco and chips. Tartar sauce is in the middle but I don't touch it usually... not that I have anything against it... just prefer the salsa for these.
The standard nachos, which I also ate, because I'm a piggy... chips, cheese, and jalapenos
Brian got the deluxe nachos except no guacamole and double sour cream. No, I can't defend that decision. He just did.
